Faridkot State was a Princely state during the British Raj. The state had its capital at Faridkot and was one of the Cis-Sutlej states in the Punjab region. ==History== A descendant of Jaisal, the founder of Jaisalmer State in 1156, who was named Kapura founded in 1643 the principality of Kot Kapura, the predecessor state of Faridkot. In 1763 the Kot Kapura State was split in two by its joint rulers: Kot Kapura, which was conquered by the Sikhs of Lahore in 1807 and incorporated into Pañjab, and Faridkot, which remained with the Jaisal dynasty. For the support given to the British in overcoming the mutiny of 1857, the ruler of Faridkot was accorded an 11-gun salute as per the rules of precedence at the Imperial Durbar.〔( Faridkot Princely State (11 gun salute) )〕 Faridkot had issued postage stamps independently from 1879 to 1887 when it signed a postal convention with the British. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Faridkot State」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
